2. Turmeric with Honey
Turmeric is easily available in our kitchens and is known for its
magical health benefits. Roasted turmeric mixed with honey is best medicine for

three-time Turmeric with Honey in a day give him fast relief.
Ingredients
1 part roasted Turmeric powder
2 part Honey
Recipe
Mix well and store in a glass container.
Dose
Take ¼ teaspoon of it for 3 times a day.
3. Sitopladi Churn with honey
You can buy Sitopladi Churn from any Ayurveda store or can prepare
it at home. It is a good Ayurveda home remedy which is used to treat acute
and chronic cough. Take a half teaspoon of Sitopaladi Churn with a teaspoon of
honey. Three times a day, before or after food.
However, Sitopaladi Churn is quite safe for kids but care should be taken. It is advisable to give it
to kids after consultation with a Doctor.

4. Tulsi-Mulethi Kadha (Decoct)
Kadha is an Ayurveda drink prepared with extracts of several herbs
and spices. Tulsi-Mulethi Kadha is beneficial in all types of cough problem.
Consume
it warm at night, before going to bed. For better results, wrap your neck with
a soft cotton cloth after drinking it.
Ingredients
1 litre Water
10-12 Black Pepper
20-25 leaves of Tulsi
5 gm Mulethi
Gur / Brown Sugar for taste
Recipe
Add Black Pepper, Tulsi and Mulethi in 1 litre of water. Boil this
water to reduce its quantity to one forth. Add Gur / Brown Sugar for taste. Store
it in a glass jar.
Dose
Use ¼ cup of this Kadha twice a day.
5. Wheat Choker Kadha (Decoct)
Another Kadha recipe which is also very effective and helpful is preparing with Wheat Choker. It is beneficial in dry cough and gives instant relief.
Ingredients
1 Tea Spoon of Wheat Choker
A pinch of Turmeric Powder
3-4 Black Pepper
Gur / Brown Sugar for taste
Recipe
Add Wheat Choker, Turmeric Powder and Black Pepper in 1 litre of
water. Boil this water to reduce its quantity to one forth. Add Gur / Brown
Sugar for taste. Store it in a glass jar.
Dose
Use one-fourth cup of this Kadha twice a day.
6. Nutmeg (Jayfal) and Pomegranate Peel
Nutmeg (Jayfal) is one of the spices available in our kitchen. It
is safe for kids. We can give it to children suffering from cough and cold.

A very small quantity of Nutmeg (Jayfal)
A medium sized piece of Pomegranate Peel

Recipe
Rub nutmeg and pomegranate peel on a stone. Collect it in a spoon
with the help of water. Add some honey for taste.
Dose
1 teaspoon, once in a day.
7. Cinnamon – Honey - Coffee
To prepare this, take one cup of water and boil it with a small
piece of cinnamon. Add one-fourth teaspoon of coffee powder in it. Also, add one
teaspoon honey for taste.
Take hot sips of this coffee in cough problem. This remedy is
helpful in reducing cough.
8. Tulsi Tea
Enjoy tea with the goodness of Tulsi. Prepare our normal tea by
adding some leaves of Tulsi.
You can also add some Black Peppers. This tea will
give you relief in throat infection.
9. Lemon Tea
Simple black tea by adding a few drops of lemon give good relief
in throat pain. Use it twice in a day if you have high pain.
Avoid milk tea in
case of high cough problem. Milk can increase cough problem and throat
pain.
10. Honey with Brandy
A small quantity of Brandy is also used to keep your chest warm and
mixing Honey in brandy helps in fighting a cough.
A teaspoon of brandy mixed
with a half teaspoon of honey will help you to fight cough and cold. This home
remedy is NOT recommended for kids.
11. Munching Mulethi
Mulethi has many benefits and vastly used in Ayurvedic medicines. Chew
a small piece of Mulethi, if you have a dry cough.
This is helpful to reduce the
cough and give a soothing effect in case of dry cough problem.
12. Black Pepper and Honey
Black pepper is very beneficial in throat inaction and irritation.
Use the powder of black pepper with honey. It will give you a great relief in
dry cough.
13. Steam inhalation using Essential Oil
Take one of the essential oils from Tea Tree oil, Eucalyptus oil,
Thyme oil or Cyprus oil. Add a few drops of it to hot water in a bowl.
Cover your head and neck with a towel. Inhale the steam for at least 5-7 minutes.

it for twice daily for a soothing effect. Don’t worry, steam inhalation using an Essential oil is harmless.
14. Gargle with Salt Water
This is an age-old therapy that is used to treat cough and cold. Add
a pinch of salt in one glass of warm water and gargle with this water.
Adding a
pinch of turmeric in this salt-water is also beneficial. This gives an instant
benefit.
15. Honey with Ginger extract
Take some Ginger and crush it, take the juice of Ginger and add some Honey
in it.
A single teaspoon is enough for the whole day. It will give you instant
relief.
16. Drink Marshmallow Tea
Warm tea and other hot liquids are always relaxing to an angry
throat. Sipping slippery elm or marshmallow root tea should help suppress
coughs.

17. Lemon, Cinnamon and Honey cough Syrup
Another effective homemade cough syrups for common cough and cold is
a mixture of Lemon, Cinnamon and Honey syrup. To prepare this syrup take juice of
2-3 lemons, add one-fourth teaspoon of Cinnamon powder and 2-3 teaspoon of honey.
You can prepare this syrup for one week and store in a cool place. This syrup
gives benefit in both types of cough problem.
18. Neti to remove Cough
We all have heard about Neti, a technique to
rinse mucus from your nasal cavity. Use it in cough and cold problem.
This is the best technique to remove the cough and cure for nasal congestion. If you don’t
know about it, please do not try it.
19. Milk with Turmeric
Boil the milk with a pinch of roasted turmeric powder. Drink this
milk warm, before going to bed.
Do not take anything else after taking this for
at least an hour.
20. Pineapple Juice
Pineapple consist of Bromelain. It is an enzyme having anti-inflammatory
and mucolytic properties.
It helps, breaking down mucus and remove it from the
body.
